Obstetrics
Being able to find a Doctor in a rural healthcare setting that is obstetrics trained is getting harder and harder to find. Luckily, in St. Paul, Nebraska, that is not the case! All four Physicians on staff are trained in obstetrics. In addition, Dr. Brennan and Dr. Kramer took part in a procedural fellowship specific to cesarean sections, which added an additional year to their Residency.
All HCMC Physicians provide prenatal care at the Clinic and obstetrics care at the Hospital. All four Physicians are also Family Practice Physicians so the care can continue for both the mom and baby after birth.
Nurses at HCMC also go through extensive training so that they may assist with obstetrics patients. Classes included in that training are Neonatal Resuscitation, Post-Resuscitation and Pre-Transport stabilization of newborns, in conjunction with A.L.S.O. training, which stands for Advanced Life Support Obstetrics.
OB education classes are also available at Howard County Medical Center. Those classes include:
- Childbirth Education
- Childbirth Education Refresher
- Sibling Classes
For more information on any of these classes, please call 308-754-4421 and ask for Phylis Anderson today!
